Tray Helper can take advantage of Microsoft Agent feature. It means that instead of showing just simple message box Tray Helper can display live, moving and speaking character to notify you about important things like new mail, reminders etc.

If you have Windows 2000, XP or ME it's quite possible that you don't have to install any additional software to use this feature.
Other types of Windows usually require downloading few small components. Please visit Official Microsoft Agent for download and full documentation of this technology.

If you have already installed MS Agent - go to Configuration tab of Tray Helper / Common settings / Microsoft Agent Characters and select "Test your PC" button. In this menu you should select a proper language of text-to-speach engine installed on your PC (default is English). If test is successful you can enable selected notifications.
